Free Language exists to disseminate free information about world languages, public domain lessons for learning foreign languages, news feeds in a variety of foreign languages, podcast links for learning foreign languages and general links for exploring and discovering these languages.
One of the main projects that Free Language is currently taking on is the amassing and creating public domain language learning resources for all world languages. These lessons will be empowered and protected by the GNU Free Documentation License, the same license that Wikipedia uses.

This is a cool project. They have lots of dictionaries in lots of different languages. This site facilitates translation between many different languages. I will be visiting them a lot now!
From their site: "If you like free dictionaries and you wish to help our project please tell more people about it. Most simple is to place links onto our project onto your page. The rule is simple the more people will know about this project the more people will use it. The more people use it the more translations are added and the bigger free dictionaries will be. The bigger dictionaries will be the more people will be satisfied with them and will use them."
Well folks, this is mighty cool. I found out about it at Slashdot.

In my online meanderings, I just can acroos the Open Dictionary Project. Very cool, indeed.
From their site: "Welcome to open dictionary, a collaborative project to produce a freely accessible multilingual dictionary in
every language, with meanings, etymologies and pronunciations with the aid of the Wiktionary project."
Have a look, contribute, and have fun learning... for free. Most of the content is based on the Wiktionary info, meaning that all is protected by the GNU Free Documentation License. You can find out more about the legal stuff for Open-Dictionary.com here.

You can get free translations done at http://www.freetranslation.com/.
You can email it to friends, too, if you want.
The site is pretty commercial, but they do have a lot of nice features.

Visit the Unilang Project Site if you are interested in languages, freedom and collaboration. It is a cool project.
From the site:
"The main purpose of the UniLang Community is to provide a home for everybody interested in any aspect of language(s) or linguistics. We try to bring together everybody who wants to talk about languages, linguistics, literature, culture, translation, communication etc."
That is quite a large crowd to bring together! At any rate, there are plenty of free goodies throughout this site, and the project seems to be coming from a good place.
